During the wintertime, the weather is good and dry in the Maritime Province of Russia, butthroughout the area near Ullung Island, it snows a lot and due to strong north or northwest winds, it becomes dreary on the sea. During the summertime, it is generally calm except for the typhoon season.

The average yearly temperatures of water are as follows; 13-19℃ for the southern part, below 10℃ for the Maritime Province of Russia, and below the freezing point for the ocean of the Maritime Province of Russia and the northern East Sea during the winter season.
